UMTC has broadened its influence in the global maritime sector by expanding its training center in Oman, a Middle Eastern country.
This achievement signifies the center's unwavering dedication to providing local seafarers in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) with top-tier training and skills development.
The training center's first significant effort was an extensive program tailored for the Oman Ship Management Company (OSMC). This specialized training in Manila enhanced the practical abilities of two groups of Ordinary Seafarers and Engine Wipers, ensuring they are well-prepared to operate effectively and efficiently on board. The initiative demonstrates UMTC's commitment to achieving excellence and safety in the maritime industry.
During the onboarding of the Omani trainees, MENA Marlow's Managing Director, Qais Al-Zadjali, expressed his complete confidence in the training center’s capabilities. UMTC's Managing Director, Donald Bautista, also conveyed his appreciation to the trainees, highlighting UMTC's dedication to their success.
A meet-and-greet session ensued, allowing trainees to engage with their instructors and key staff members who will support them throughout their training journey.
The extensive training program included a blend of theoretical concepts and practical exercises, addressing vital modules such as:
• Practical Deck Skills – equipping trainees with essential techniques for deck operations.
• Safe Mooring Operation – embedding best practices for secure and effective mooring procedures.
