Continuous Proficiency Development for Deck Ratings Promoted to Operational Level Officers

This program is designed to provide deck ratings with continued proficiency development for promotion to Officer-in-Charge of the Navigational Watch.

The program covers the required competencies outlined in the STCW Code, as amended, specifically Part A, Chapter II, Table A-II/1, while also taking into account the industry’s best management practices, standards, and regulations.

Training Outcome/s:

• Apply leadership and teamwork skills
• Prepare for Port State Control Inspections
• Transmit and receive information using GMDSS sub-systems and equipment, and fulfill the functional requirements of GMDSS
• Apply COLREG to maintain a safe navigational watch
• Plan and execute a voyage plan
• Maintain safe navigation with Bridge Teamwork and Resource Management
