Global Maritime Distress and Safety System Radio Operator (GMDSS Radio Operator)

The course covers lectures, demonstrations, practical exercises, and assessments in the use of various GMDSS equipment complying with the requirements under the provisions of E.O 75 and Maritime Industry Authority (MARINA) Circular No. 2013-01, Series of 2012, meeting the specification of minimum standard of competence for GMDSS radio operators defined in Section A-IV/2  of the STCW Code 2010 Manila Amendments taking into account the guidelines recommended in IMO Model Course 1.25 General Operator`s Certificate for the Global Maritime Distress and Safety System.

Training Outcome/s:

• transmit and receive information using GMDSS subsystems and equipment, fulfilling the functional requirements of GMDSS and
• Provide radio services in emergencies.
