Mooring Winch Testing and Operational Maintenance
The course aims to provide training in safe working practices for the testing and maintenance of mooring winches and associated equipment. It covers the mooring winch test, winch brake test, brake lining measurement and checks, inspection of mooring line, and working with the Mooring System Management Plan as required by the Mooring Equipment Guidelines (MEG4) of the Oil Companies International Marine Forum (OCIMF).
Training Outcome/s:
- follow the Mooring System Management Plan (MSMP)
- comply with the Ship Inspection Report Program
- inspect and test the mooring winch and brake
- inspect anchor windlass, mooring lines, and synthetic tails
