This course aims to enhance the knowledge, skills, and attitude of Ships' Catering NCI (Ships' Cook) under industry requirements and compliance with the Maritime Labour Convention (MLC) 2006—Standard A3.2, MARPOL Annex V, and approved ILO guidelines on the training of Ships' cooks.
The Ships' Catering NCIII (Ships' Cook) program is a TESDA-accredited course that equips aspiring cooks with the knowledge and skills to manage all galley department operations and procure provisions. It focuses on preparing, cooking, and serving proper quantity, quality, nutritious food that meets cultural, religious, and hygiene requirements while emphasizing adequate food storage, handling, and disposal following regulatory standards on board a ship.
