This course aims to develop the competency and proficiency of seafarers who will be explicitly assigned as helmsmen. It covers theoretical and practical exercises in steering different types of ships under different conditions prescribed in the STCW Code of 2010, as amended.

Training Outcome/s:

  •  steer a vessel
  •  carry out bridge procedures as helmsman

Entry Standard/s:

All seafarers who are certified to form part of a navigational watch.

Duration: 1 training day
