Steering Course for Vessels 50,000GT and Above

This course aims to provide practical training for deck rating designated with duties as helmsmen on a vessel of 50,000 GT and above. It covers lectures and practical exercises in steering a vessel under various conditions as recommended and prescribed in STCW Code 2021, as amended.

Training Outcome/s:

After the training, participants must be able to explain closed-looped communication and standard maritime communication phrases (SMCP) and steer the ship of 50,000 GT and above in various conditions.

Entry Standards:

Rating forming part of a navigational watch.
