This evaluation program aims to determine the current level of knowledge, understanding, and skills of electricians and electrotechnical personnel in their role as operational-level officers to assess their readiness for shipboard assignment on their assigned tasks.
Assessment Outcome/s:
- Determine the level of competency of electricians or electro-technical officers by identifying their strengths and training needs in the following areas:
- Electrical Engineering: Fundamentals and Safety
- Marine Electro-Technology: Electrical Machines, Drives and Equipment
- Electronics and Power Electronics
- Automation, Instrumentation, Alarms, and Control Systems
- Refrigeration, Heating, Ventilation, and Air-Conditioning Systems
- Pneumatic and Hydraulic Systems
- Electro-Hydraulics and Electro-Pneumatics
- Automation and Control of Main Propulsion and Auxiliary Machinery
- Generators, Electrical Power Distribution Systems, and Equipment
- Marine High Voltage Systems
- Computer and Data Networks
- Bridge Navigation Equipment and Ship Communication Systems
- Maintenance and Repairs
- Use of Electrical Testing and Measuring Tools and Equipment
- Interpreting Schematic Diagrams
- Detecting Malfunctions and Restoring Operations
- Safe Working Practices
- Recommend training sessions to enhance knowledge, understanding, and skills in the identified areas that need improvement
