Engine Ratings Promoted to Operational Level Engineers

To provide Engine ratings who are candidate for promotion as Officers-in-Charge of an Engineering Watch with skills, knowledge and behaviors required for an OIC-EW as part of their continuous proficiency development.

Training Outcome/s:

• act on a leadership role
• comply with the port state control inspection
• perform basic electrical trouble shooting
• operate refrigeration and air-conditioning system
• comply with MARPOL and other conventions
• perform engine maintenance and watchkeeping.
