Practical Shipboard Safety
The course aims to provide refresher and update training for officers and crew to enhance their knowledge, understanding, and proficiency in company-specific safety-related policies, procedures, and tasks on board the ship.
Training Outcome/s:
- Identify what constitutes Safety Culture and Leadership
- Handle chemicals and liquids in the Galley safely
- Operate steam and compressed air systems on deck, including the use of pressurized liquids
- Demonstrate safe manual handling and lifting techniques, including ergonomics.
- Demonstrate correct lifting and slinging operations, including the manual handling of heavy objects.
- Work at heights safely.
- Prepare Enclosed Space Safe Entry, including the use of gas testing equipment.
- Rig and unrig the gangway, accommodation ladder, and combination pilot ladder safely.
- Conduct safe use of welding and gas cutting equipment
- Perform Safe Mooring Operations.
Entry Standard/s: Open for Deck and Engine Officers and Ratings, and Galley Personnel Duration: 4 training days |
