Ship Fitters Course

This course aims to provide ship fitters with the knowledge and skills necessary to fabricate engine parts, including hot and cold arc welding processes, as well as the application of oxy-acetylene gas for welding special materials. Additionally, it covers the maintenance of diesel engine parts before they are assigned to their respective vessels.

Training Outcome/s:

• Interpret a technical drawing
• Use a lathe machine to fabricate bolts and flanges
• Grind a lathe cutting tool
• Weld using shielded metal arc welding
• Perform oxyacetylene welding
• Apply polymer repair compounds
• Conduct maintenance on the 2-stroke fuel oil injection system
• Conduct maintenance on 4-stroke main engine parts
