6G Welding Trade Test for Class Certification
The trade test aims to assess the knowledge, understanding, and skills of a fitter/welder in pipe welding using the 6G position, and establish their welding qualification and certification based on the Approval Testing of Welders (NR 476) and Welder Performance Qualification , as conducted by Bureau Veritas or another recognized organization.
Assessment Outcome/s:
- Determine a record of uninterrupted welding activity within four consecutive six-month periods before the expiration of the welding certification.
- Conduct welding inspection during the welder’s performance and affix the surveyor’s / inspector’s / assessor’s or qualified instructor’s stamp or signature in the test coupon for an acceptable result.
- Determine a welder's level of skills based on the pre-defined criteria stipulated in the Competency Evaluation Sheet.
- Acknowledge by affixing his signature to the certificate for the prolongation of the Welders Qualification Test Certificate issued by Bureau Veritas (BV) or another recognized welding society or any qualifying organization, and recommend (as applicable) for retraining of welders for re-qualification (refer to 6G Welding course program) within the identified training deficiency.
